An Apex woman is in jail today after being charged with murder in the death of her husband.
Wake County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jolene Kay Hardy, 55, early Friday morning.
Officials say they responded to a call of a deceased person inside a home in the 3800 block of Perney Court in Apex around 4:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
When authorities arrived, they discovered the body of Gerald Douglas Hardy, 60.
The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is treating the death as a homicide and subsequently charged Jolene Kay Hardy with murder.
Hardy is being held in the Wake County Jail under no bond. She is expected to make her first court appearance later this afternoon.
