Three people were injured in a car accident on Highway 55 Thursday in Apex.
The accident was reported at about 3:45 p.m.
Police said a car was driving the wrong way on Highway 55, heading north toward Salem Street. The car collided with another car traveling the correct direction before a second car also hit the wrong-way driver.
Three people were taken to the hospital with serious injures. The road is open, but police are asking drivers to take another route.
