Durham Public Schools Middle School Honors Band

The district-wide Middle School Honors Band is composed of 90 top band students selected from each of nine middle schools, grades 6-8: Brogden, Carrington, Chewning, Githens, Lowe's Grove, Neal, Rogers-Herr, Shepard, and Durham School of the Arts. Mr. Jeff Norman from Greer High School in Greer, SC, will be the guest conductor. You are invited to attend the Middle School Honors Band Concert, which is free and open to the public, on Saturday, November 15, at 3:00 p.m. in the Brogden Middle School auditorium at 1001 Leon Street.Elementary students are encouraged to attend as this is an excellent opportunity for rising sixth-grade students to find out about middle school band. Because music is taught sequentially, if students wish to play in their middle and high school bands, it is highly recommended that they sign up for band in the sixth grade.
