Opening to the public Saturday, November 15th, Holiday Springs and Sprockets is an artful exhibit of six LARGE-SCALE holiday-themed mechanical sculptures made from old-fashioned kitchen appliances, machine parts and pop culture collectibles cleverly transformed into motorized reindeer, candy cane making machines, mobile holiday cookie bakers, egg nog makers, Santa, his reindeer and other gadgetry known as: Bells and Whistler, Glam-o-Matic, Stuart Little Tours NYC, Repedity in Blue, Three on a Ski Lift and Amer-o-Matic.
"It's great to be back in Durham to present my latest show. This latest combination of Gadgetry and Holiday is designed to entertain and inspire," said Gerberich. "I use thousands of found objects and dozens of motors to create thematic installations. I dare you to experience this show with a straight face."
This Iowa-born sculptor challenges the everyday, pushing objects to come alive in extraordinary, unimaginable ways. Gerberich wowed audiences in 2003 and 2006 at the Museum. For more on Gerberich www.gerbomatic.com
