Inside the Town Hall a tree is decorated with names of boys and girls from Holly Springs schools who may not get a holiday present without help from the community.
The kids ask for toys and other items. The cards also list necessities such as coats and clothes.
Organizers say with the troubled economy, giving this year is more important than ever.
"It makes it even more important that people give however they can, even if they can't give as much this year as they did last year or the year before last. Anything's appreciated," said Mark Andrews, Holly Springs Public Information Officer.
Gifts need to be wrapped and returned by Thursday, Dec 11.
