A snowball fight at East Carolina University now has the school's police department under scrutiny for using pepper spray on students.
A video posted on Youtube and several other social media websites shows dozens of students playing in front of a dorm. See Full Youtube video
Police responded to complaints three times, a school spokesperson said. The final time, a student was arrested after, a witness says, he hit an officer with a snowball.
"At that moment, the kid decided to run. But, then he stopped eventually and the cop tackled him. And I believe I saw a mace bottle. I don't know if it was used, but it was definitely pointed in the direction of the kid," said ECU freshman Imtiaz Sayed.
The university says officers used pepper spray on some students who approached them during the arrest.
