Morrisville's Town Council has a full menu of agenda items it is set to vote on during Tuesday's meeting.
Included in that list are several issues relating to the budget and development.
Town staffers are asking for a $2.8 million reduction in the current fiscal year budget, which ends in just a few months.
According to Town Manager John Whitson, the town will not reach expected income levels from developer fees and other revenue, and simply can't make their goal from the budget that council members approved last summer.
Looking towards the future of the town and how it hopes to manage growth, the council is expected to adopt a new Land Use & Transportation Plan.
The plan has been shaped through several months of revisions, and will outline how the town will handle transportation issues, property purchases, and town-sponsored developments.
Also on Tuesday's budget is Phase One of Morrisville's goal to establish a legitimate "downtown" area.
The Town Center Main Street Project will be designed encourage development of a community shopping district with streetfront shops, and could potentially lead to projects like the building of a cultural arts facility, historic museum and a Civil War battlefield park.
