RALEIGH, N.C. -

A Ft. Bragg soldier was killed in a motorcycle accident on I-40 in Raleigh Tuesday afternoon.

The State Highway Patrol said Harold Morton Boyd, Jr. , 36,  was driving a motorcycle westbound on I-40 when he was side-swiped by a Volkswagon Jetta. Boyd was thrown from his motorcycle.

Trooper Sedric Herring said a total of four vehicles were involved in the accident. Herring said the accident was caused by the driver of the Jetta, Anas Dahabi, as he attempted to change more than one lane and moved from the far left lane to the third lane.

Dahabi overcorrected, hit Boyd, then overcorrected a second time and struck a semi-truck. Herring said a Ford Mustang then hit the motorcycle.

There were no other injuries reported and Trooper Herring will be meeting with the DA's office to discuss possible charges against Dahabi.

Westbound lanes of I-40 were shutdown for about an hour Tuesday as crews worked to clear the scene.
