The U.S. Naval Academy has brought larceny and forgery charges against a midshipman.
Naval Academy spokesman Cmdr. Joe Carpenter says the charges against Christopher O. Rivers, of Durham, N.C., were brought Sept. 10 after an investigation by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
Rivers is a sophomore at the academy.
Carpenter declined to comment in detail about the case. He says the alleged activity happened principally at the academy.
Carpenter says more information on a hearing in the case will be announced later.
