If you know a four-year-old entering Kindergarten in the 2009-2010 school year, the child may qualify for a free program to help with success in school.
The program, called More at Four, is offered by the Partnership for Children of Johnston County in conjunction with the NC Office of School Readiness. The Partnership for Children of Johnston County manages the More at Four and Smart Start programs designed to help every child be ready to succeed in school by the time they reach Kindergarten.
The More at Four program is a six and a half hour structured day that runs on the same schedule as the Johnston County Schools and includes free lunch. There are 25 More At Four locations throughout the county with the newest classroom opening at Meadow Elementary School in the fall of 2008.
Applications are currently being accepted by appointment for Johnston County children who will be four years old by August 31, 2008.
To learn more about the free More At Four program and to find out if your child qualifies, call the Partnership for Children of Johnston County at (919) 202-0002.
