DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham County Government's latest edition of From A to Z, What Kids Need to Know to be Good Durham County Citizens, is now available to the public. The booklet, printed in English and Spanish, highlights the functions of Durham County Government in alphabetical order and is free to the public. The target audiences for the booklet are 4th to 6th grade aged children that may be interested in or studying topics related to local government.

"This important guide to our Durham County services has been available for many years for our youngest residents," said Deborah Craig-Ray, assistant county manager for communications for Durham County. "We are pleased to expand our audience by now offering a version for our Spanish speaking youth."

A to Z readers can look forward to learning about the great programs offered by Durham County Government, the Board of County Commissioners, and interesting places children can visit throughout the county. The booklet, complete with a modified government directory and puzzles to test the knowledge of readers, can be picked up from one of the following locations:

Durham County Government, 200 East Main St.

Durham County's Main Library and branches, 300 North Roxboro St.

Durham County's Public Health Department, 414 East Main St.

Lincoln Community Health Center, 1301 Fayetteville St.
