Apex High School students are looking to the community for donations to make their homecoming fun for the entire family.
This year, the students are hosting not just a pep rally and a parade through downtown Apex, but also a carnival for the community. It will be held on Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. before the big football game, but students said they need money for the festivities. They are reaching out to sponsors in the community to make the celebration possible.
"This year we're trying to do something new. We're doing a carnival with DJ, dunking booths [and] football-themed games for all the family to get involved," senior Amanda Baldiga said. "We need the support of the community. Apex High School is a big part of Apex. People really enjoy coming to the game and will enjoy being part of homecoming instead of just watching the game."
Due to popular demand, the school is holding these daytime events instead of a homecoming dance. If anyone would like to donate or know more about the carnival email Student Council Advisor Brandi Thurmond at bthurmond@wcpss.net. or click here.
