The Johnston Community College Foundation is preparing to host its fifth annual Dollars for Scholars gala at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 at the Smithfield home of David and Joyce Lee.

Proceeds from the gala will provide support to JCC students, faculty, and staff by providing funds for scholarships, student support programming, mini grants, and special initiatives.

The College Foundation is the nonprofit organization that supports the college through the generation and management of gifts from citizens, corporations, and charitable foundations. Last year, the College Foundation provided over $210,000 to the college for scholarships, student support programming, mini grants, performing arts, Howell Woods, the arboretum, and many other projects.

Donor levels are as follows: Star Circle, $500-999; College Circle, $250-$499; Friends Circle, $100-$249. Each donor level admits two persons to the gala.
