The congregation of Mount Calvary Baptist Church worshipped Sunday morning, even after two fires destroyed their church.
Clayton police suspect that both fires, which happened on May 6 and June 6, were set intentionally.
A neighboring church offered its sanctuary. And that's just one of the offers of help that the congregation received.
"We're on prayer lists at all these churches around here," church member Joan King said after the Sunday service held at Amelia Christian Church.
"It's just so hard to believe that people would stoop to this level to just burn the house of God and then come back and set it on fire again," she added.
The congregation is relying on its faith to get through this.
"Nothing is an accident," said Pastor Darrell Sauls. "Even the dark valleys somehow God uses in ways to bring glory to Himself."
The congregation plans to rebuild. Pastor Sauls said the first thing they will do is install an alarm system and surveillance cameras.
They do not know yet who burned their church or why, but they are praying for those responsible.
"We hope they're caught. We hope they're punished. But we also pray for them," King said.
