DURHAM, N.C. -
Police are investigating a shooting at the 200 block of South Guthrie Avenue, where they say a man was sitting on the porch, and was shot in the face. Neighbors say the incident took place at 209 Guthrie. They say the shooting victim is a long-time resident of the neighborhood known as "Conrad".
Police received the shooting call at 3:01 PM. According to authorities, the injury is not life threatening, but they are looking into a possible link between a number of noon time calls received about shots being fired in the Southgate/Maple/Cherry Grove area.
Investigators remain on the scene, and are canvassing both the 100 and 200 blocks of South Guthrie Avenue for evidence.
