CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. -

A man and woman have been charged with threatening a Clayton Wal-Mart employee with what they claimed was a gun before fleeing the store with stolen goods and attempting to flee officers.

Corey Dovone Hairston, 38, of 710 Tyler Road, Raleigh, and Keisha Levette Lasane, 40, of 1105 Holman St., Raleigh, were both arrested.

Lasane is charged with felony restraint, misdemeanor larceny and resist, delay and obstruction. She was being held at the Johnston County Jail on $42,500 bond.

Hairston was charged with misdemeanor aid and abet larceny and misdemeanor resist, delay and obstruct. He was held on $2,500 bail.

According to the Clayton Police Department, the pair were detained at the Wal-Mart on Highway Business 70 on suspicion of larceny. During the ordeal just before 3 p.m. Saturday, the two claimed to have a gun and fled the store.

Officers arrived and using descriptions were able to locate both. While Hairston was detained, Lasane fled by jumping into the passenger seat of another car. Lasane is accused of threatening the driver of that car with a gun and demanding that the driver drive away.

Clayton police officer Scott Holzshu then ran and stopped Lasane. No gun was found on either suspect and the $175 worth of stolen property was recovered, according to a news release.
