One of the film's executive producer's, Jaisun McMillian described the company's vision for the film. "The film dramatizes a period in Durham’s Hayti District, beginning from its better day in early 1900 through 1977. We will revisit Hayti to provide a platform for many varied important voices. The Hayti community’s decline is a stain on the legacy of Black America. The young people who have screened the trailer for this film, expressed appreciation for its historic value and vision for the future. The older participants said that they felt the story was long overdue. We hope viewer's see the urgency for a renewed sense of self-help, everyone participating in the “true American dream” like their forbearers in the Hayti business district. We have been dealt a great hand with the election of a Black President. The question today is. . . How will we play the hand we have been dealt? How will we support President Obama and at the same time treat him like any other leader that must understand the urgency of our community needs.", McMillian said". The film is expected to be released in early 2010.
