DURHAM, N.C. -
The public is invited to two events Friday night hosted by the Durham Arts Council.
An artists reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. for exhibiting artists in the galleries of the Durham Arts Council, 120 Morris St.
The exhibits are free and open to the public through Sept. 7.
In addition, CAPS, or Creative Artists in Private and Public Schools, will have a back to school showcase from 6 to 9 p.m. at the CCB Plaza.

The plaza is at 201 Corcoran Street, between Durham Marriott and Suntrust Bank.
The free event includes live performances, interactive demonstrations and prizes.
