The Town of Hillsborough is recruiting volunteers to serve on several advisory boards:
Historic District Commission - meets at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Members review construction applications for exterior work in the Historic District.
Members serve three-year terms and may serve two consecutive terms.
Applicants must live within the town's planning jurisdiction. Those with training or significant interest in architecture, history, preservation, archaeology and related fields are encouraged to apply.

Parks and Recreation Board - meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Members advise the town and planning boards about park issues. They provide comments about recreation space offered by various developments and work to implement the Master Parks and Recreation Plan.

Tourism Board - meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. Members promote travel, tourism and visitor services in Hillsborough. They also work to preserve and enhance the town's historic built and natural environment. Members serve two-year terms and must be residents of or own a business in Hillsborough.
The Tourism Board has two vacancies for restaurant representatives. To qualify, the representatives must be owners or operators of businesses in Hillsborough that are subject to the 1 percent tax.

Tree Board - meets at 9:30 a.m. the third Wednesday of each month. Members help facilitate the planting, growth, protection and removal of trees within town. Responsibilities of the board include conducting an annual tree safety audit of existing trees along streets and on public property within town to determine needed pruning and removal.
