TARBORO, N.C.

An 8-month old Tarboro infant is lucky to be alive after what several people say was a small tornado that left him trapped in a glass-strewn bed.

The parents of Jayden Adcock say the storm blew in the window on his room, and showered the little boy with glass.

Justin Adcock said he was watching the twister in his backyard when he heard a crash coming from the baby's room in their house the on Stable Road.

Justin said his wife ran for Jayden's room---but couldn't get the door open because of the wind.

Justin says he eventually kicked the door down only to find his son covered in shards of glass on his bed.

Despite that, Justin said Jayden suffered only a few minor scratches.

Justin says he can't believe his son wasn't seriously hurt by all the flying debris.

The tornado also knocked down several trees crushing the home of Danny Trevathan who lives across the street on McKendree Church Road.

Although Danny and his wife were home at the time, they weren't hurt because they were in the back of the house and the tree destroyed the porch and several rooms in the front of the home.
