A child was struck by lightning during storms Monday.

The incident happened off Highway 70 on Battlefield Drive. The child was taken to the hospital, but no other information is available yet.

Winds gusted up to 70 mph, trees are down and some area residents saw three-quarter-inch hail during storms Monday.
