If there's football to be played, football fans will want to tailgate.

But what if you're not allowed to have grills on school property? Well, at Leesville Road High School they just take the tailgate elsewhere.

It started last year, and the so-called "Grill Team" takes over the Springdale Recreation Club every home game.

"This is gonna be our Grill Team edition of Cribs," said Leesville Road student Bo Burns, walking towards the setup. "We got the cars with the subs."

"We got buns, we got ketchup, we got spatulas," adds another Grill Team member.

"Cook burgers, hang out, play a little cornhole, throw a little football," said Corey Maddox. "Just hang out before the game."

The setup is only about half a mile from campus, but it's already become something of a tradition.

"I really hope so, man. We've got some dedicated people out here," said Burns. "You see the numbers, we have some dedicated fans."

And as game time approaches, the Grill Team packs up and heads out as one big group.

They set up shop as the unofficial leaders of "Looneyville" and lead the chants; of course when things go well for the Pride, Grill Team cheers the loudest.

They had to be all smiles Friday night, too, since Leesville Road blanked East Wake by a final of 28-0.
