Researchers at N.C. State will unveil new technology today that could help residents save some green.
The University is developing smart grids that will modernize the nation's electric system to help reduce energy costs and make America less dependent on foreign energy.
Under the pilot projects, consumers could save a minimum of 10 to 15 percent on energy per household.
Web interface or in-home intelligent displays would be used to control appliances and internet connectivity would be provided to every home.
