The temperatures are not dipping into freezing quite yet, but Cary is prepared for winter already.
Members of the town's "A-Team" snow removal crew held their fifth annual rodeo Wednesday, competing with each other through an obstacle course and getting refreshers on how to safely handle icy situations.
It's all in good fun, but town officials insist it is important for keeping people safe, too.
"Just like any sports team, the way you practice is the way you're going to play," said Public Works Director Mike Bajorek. "So we take this very seriously."
The town has 30 plows of its own trucks, and contracts out for an additional 20 or so.
