The blustery weather didn't stop Harnett County resident Aaron Cress from commuting to his job in Cary, but not before he got a few good photos of the snow.
"I'm just trying to document everything. I haven't seen snow like this in several years," Cress said.
But the sparkling snow wasn't picture perfect to some people like Alex Stevens. Cars were in ditches all over the area.
"I pushed a guy out of the ditch. It doesn't do any good to get out in this stuff unless you absolutely have to," Stevens said.
Capt. Jamey Roberts with the Lillington Fire Department said there more than 15 reports of cars going off the road, but no one was hurt.
"The state is doing the best they can and the town is doing the best they can but it's coming down pretty good," Roberts said.
But many of the drivers like Carrie Wilkins admit they should have stayed in and off the road today and encourage others to do just that.
"My recommendation is to drink hot chocolate and stay inside. Maybe even build a snowman with your children," Wilkins said.
And the Lake family, who lives just outside Harnett County, followed that advice, building a large snowman in their yard. Even the fire fighters threw a couple snowballs. And although they're enjoying the snow today, many of these people said they can't wait to see the North Carolina sun shining bright.
