A teenager wanted on charges of murder turned himself into police Wednesday.
Carlos Mendoza, 16, surrendered to the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force at the Reynosa Bridge in Hidalgo, Texas.
Mendoza is one of six suspects charged with murder in the Feb. 26 shooting death of 17-year-old Alejandro Emir Denis-Terron on Herbert Street in Durham.
Edgar Alfonso Hernandez and Erick Calderon, both 17, were arrested last month.
Denis-Terron was standing in the yard at 119 Herbert Street with a group of males when the shooting occurred around 11 p.m.
Investigators are still searching for Ricardo Cruz Perez, 20, of East Lavender Street and Jose Martin "Pepe" Luviano, 16, of Ruby Ridge Road and Ivy Street. Police said Rodrigo "Morro" Villegas, 19, of North Hoover Road died March 30 in a traffic accident in Hidalgo, Mexico.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these suspects is asked to call Investigator Soucie at 560-4440, ext. 274 or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
