NCSU Students, Faculty Hold Budget Protest

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A budget protest is planned for today at NC State University.

Some students, along with campus workers will protest possible cuts during a committee hearing. The university is facing a 5 to 7 percent budget reduction.

The budget advisory committee plans to cut as many as 170 workers. Thirty people have already been laid off.

There's also talk of enrollment cuts by as much as 3,000 students.

Students will meet at the brickyard at 1p.m. and then march to Holladay Hall, where the budget meeting will get underway at 2 p.m.
