Business are moving to Apex, bringing jobs and new residents.
Jim Stella, Director of Economic Development for the Apex Chamber of Commerce, presented his bi-annual report to the Town Council Tuesday.
Stella reported that since September of last year, there have been 96 inquiries to the Chamber with people and businesses interested in moving to Apex.
Two large companies that have made their home in town are Rapiscan Systems and a new Marriott Hotel.
Stella said their goal is decrease the gap between commercial and residential developments.
"We're working on getting the ratio of commercial and residential a little better. It's 81 percent residential and 19 percent commercial but that's not a healthy balance," Stella said.
Stella said there are numerous projects in the works and others that are being proposed.
