Town officials are asking their citizens to be more conscious of the water they use.
Right now there are no water restrictions in town, but beginning May 1, that will change, even though their water supply is not low. At that time anyone on the town's water system can only use automated irrigation systems every other day.
Days will vary for each home based on their address. Even-numbered homes can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Odd-numbered homes can water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Assistant Town Manager Arthur Mouberry said the restrictions are not only to make people mindful of the water they use, but also to keep water rates down.
The town also implemented its own guidelines for possible water shortages, in the past they used other town's guidelines and could not enforce them.
"Now, with our own conservation measures we can go in and actually have some teeth in our law, we can go out and issue notices and if the folks don't comply with them we have the ability to issue civil penalties," he said.
