Hundreds of Catholics gathered at St. Michaels the Archangel in Cary to celebrate Good Friday.
They sang songs and listened to the Holy Passion. Monsignor Tim O'Connor said Good Friday is an important day for all Christians.
"We call it the Easter Triduum which means three days off one service that began last night, Holy Thursday, commemorating the Last Supper. Today is the passion and death and Sunday being Easter is his Resurrection," Monsignor O'Connor said.
Church member Albert Lee said he feels strongly about the passion service.
This is the day Christ was crucified so this passion service is the most sacred of all the Easter celebrations," Lee said.
There will be Easter vigils at the church beginning Saturday night thru Sunday afternoon.
