County officials say the remaining suspect that had been missing since a prison break in February has turned himself in this morning to Orange County officials.
According to Chatham County Sheriff's department, an informant called the sheriff's department and told them where 30-year-old Stewart Wendell Baldwin was hiding out.
Sheriff Richard Webster said Baldwin's girlfriend, 27-year-old LaToya Dawn Headen found out the police were headed to the home on 2627 Dairyland Road, so he fled. Headen was arrested by Orange County deputies and faces a felony charge of harboring of an escaped criminal.
Officials said Baldwin found out that Headen got arrested and wanted to turn himself in. He was arrested at a gas station in Orange County near Hatch Road and Highway 54.
A charge of escaping from a local jail is being added to his two previous counts of first degree kidnapping. Baldwin is being held at Chatham County Jail under a $1 million bond.
Baldwin was one of five inmates that escaped Chatham County Jail on Feb. 5.
