DURHAM, N.C. -

Suspected fraudulent voter registration forms have been turning up in North Carolina.

According to the State Board of Elections more than 130 cases have been found.

They site 104 cases in Durham County, 30 cases in Wake County and one case in Mecklenburg County.

The Elections Board is now checking voter registration forms handed in by canvassers working for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, known as ACORN.

That group says it is the victim of workers filling out falsified forms or by people in the public filling out fake forms.

"State law requires us to turn in good voter registration forms and bad registration forms, if a person writes anything on the form at all, we're required to turn them in," said Rev. Melvin Whitley, ACORN Representative.

State Board of Elections officials said the suspected fraudulent forms have not been put into the statewide database.
