Monday marks the two-year anniversary of the murder of a pregnant Wake County mother, and there is still no arrest.
Here's where the case stands:
Michelle Young was found beaten to death inside her home. Her 2-year-old daughter, who was also in the house, was not harmed.
Young's husband, Jason, claims to have been out of town at the time of the crime.
While investigators say Jason Young has been uncooperative, he has not been named a suspect.
It's tough on those who knew and loved her.
"There has not really been any closure for her family and her friends and her coworkers," said friend Kim Linder.
That being said, the sheriff's office has always been optimistic that investigators will find the evidence they need to make an arrest.
"I'm very confidant it will come to a resolution. When? That is the question. A lot of people keep asking that question. I don't know the answer to it, but I feel confident that we will find who did it," said Sheriff Donnie Harrison.
"We have to have that faith," said Linder. "That's how her family continues to go forward and move on and be patient. We have to have that faith."
Investigators have been there for friends and family over the last couple years, making the effort to go to things like Sunday's private memorial.
"One of the detectives did show up," said Linder. "He was there for us."
"Well, as in any other case, I want families to know that we don't give up easy, and we'll never give up," said Harrison.
"It helps tremendously because it helps the family and her friends know that the case has not been forgotten and that the detectives, they do have a personal side to them and they want resolution for this case just as much as we do," said Linder.
When that resolution comes, though, is anyone's guess.
