More than 700 Wake County high school juniors and seniors learned of the many career opportunities available during the annual Extreme Beginnings career fair at Raleigh's McKimmon Center.
Jerry O'Connor, Wake County schools business alliance coordinator, said "Hundreds of business leaders are here this morning to talk to these students about opportunities. Let them think about careers. Why you go to school. And what's it's going to take if you want to be successful."
NBC 17 had special roundtable sessions and turned the microphones over to students from Apex, Garner, Sanderson, Broughton, Wake Forest - Rolesville High school and others to give special shout-outs to NBC17.
Organizers said the event that started with breakfast at 9 a.m. and ran until noon was a success.
