Ten weeks of hard work finally paid off after participants of the Garner Police Department's Citizen Police Academy graduated Tuesday night.
The 2008 class participated in building searches, practiced vehicle stop techniques and learned the operations of the Garner Police Department.
"The Citizen Academy gives the citizens of Garner the opportunity to not only meet their police officers, but to get some insight into what the officers go through on a day to day basis," said Chief Tom Moss in a press release. "The academy would not be successful without the community's strong interest and support."
Anyone interested in participating in this program can complete a registration card here. The next Citizen Academy is schedule to begin in early September 2009.
