Public input is being sought for a draft plan of the N.C. 147 and U.S. Hwy. 15-501 Corridors.
The Durham City and County Planning Departments will hold an open house from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at Durham City Hall Lobby, 101 City Hall Plaza.
The Central Durham Gateways Plan is a comprehensive study of the "corridor of gateways" along portions of N.C. Hwy. 147 and the U.S. Hwy. 15-501 Bypass. The plan has been under construction since 2005, with two public input sessions conducted in 2005 and 2006.
The purpose of this open house is to reacquaint the public with the scope of the plan and the summary of previous public input. In addition, citizens will have an opportunity to provide additional input and feedback on the plan recommendations.
After receiving feedback at the Dec. 11 meeting, the Durham City/County Planning Department will conduct a follow-up meeting in January 2009 to present the revised draft plan to the public. The updated plan and the details for the January open house will be posted on the City's Web site in early January.
