With the help of the United States Postal Service, local letter carriers collected food donations on Saturday in an effort to stop hunger.
Letter carriers were collecting non-perishable food items yesterday for the 16th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive called “Stamp Out Hunger.” More than 240, 000 pounds of food was collected to benefit local food banks. Donations were up 13,000 pounds, according to a written release by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
