A settee that young Sasha and Malia Obama will use in the White House is being made by a longtime North Carolina furniture maker.
Vanguard Furniture had less than a week to make the sofa. The company usually gets about a month to make its custom-ordered furniture.
Last week, master upholsterer Doug Jones put the finishing touches on the sofa made from scratch. Jones has worked 27 years at Vanguard and is excited about having his work in the White House.
The order came from Anthropologie, a high-end retailer accessorizing the White House residence for the soon-to-be first family.
