A non-profit group that helps those touched by domestic violence is looking to the community for support.
Interact hosted a community author series, a plan to make people aware of their program and also their thrift store in Fuquay-Varina that raises money for the group.
Thursday, award-winning Linda Shields spoke to members of the community about the importance of setting the right impression through speaking.
Damita Wilson said the thrift shop helps to support all those victims involved with Interact.
"All the proceeds from the store here go directly back to our services -- services that people desperately need when they are struggling with issues of domestic violence or who have been sexually assaulted. It shows that they have the support of the community and it helps with the healing process," Wilson said.
