RALEIGH, N.C. -

According to the City of Raleigh’s website, ridership on the R-Line is up as the program enters its second month.

The R-Line, which is free, is becoming more popular among Raleigh riders.  Weekend ridership has been strong since the R-line was first introduced to downtown.

According to the city’s website, the peak ridership days are Fridays and Saturdays.  During the past couple of weeks, ridership topped at 800 passengers.  The average number of riders during the weekday is about 320.

Nearly 2,700 passengers rode the R-Line from March 15 through March 21.

The R-Line runs every 10-15 minutes.  For more information about the R-Line and other Raleigh public transportation, click here.
