A governor often named as a possible vice presidential selection for Republican White House hopeful John McCain plans to speak in North Carolina.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will speak Tuesday morning at an education symposium in Cary. The event is designed to bring governors together to discuss challenges facing education.
The James B. Hunt, Jr. Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy is co-hosting the event with the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices.
Pawlenty chairs the governors association and serves on the Hunt Institute board of directors.
Pawlenty is co-chair of McCain's campaign. The Arizona senator has kept quiet about who he will ask to join him on his ticket.
