Allen Liegeot owns a business just five doors down from Johnny's Pizza in Apex where the owner was arrested Saturday for selling more than just pizza.

"Shocked that he would be doing it, doing it right from the restaurant itself? It doesn't make sense," Liegeot said.

The owner of Johnny's Pizza, 30-year-old John Pavlik, is facing numerous drug charges for allegedly selling heroin out of the pizzeria.

"The case is part of an ongoing investigation we've been involved with our partnering agencies for a number of weeks," Apex Police Chief Jack Lewis said.

Michael Stratton, 24, is an employee of Mojo's Bar about a mile away from the pizzeria and faces similar drug charges.

Chief Lewis with the Apex Police said the department is doing their part.

"We do have drug issues but not a lot of problems. We're trying real hard to keep them at a minimum. We're trying to make places that people identify as an area to buy drugs is unsuccessful," Lewis said.

Although Mr. Liegeot is surprised with the incident he said he does not worry about the safety of the area.

"I don't think it is a safety issue for the plaza. People should not feel threatened to come here and do business."

NBC 17 stopped at Johnny's Pizza, but they declined to comment.

Although the suspects do business in town, Pavlik lives in Chapel Hill and Stratton in Pittsboro.

Police said they are working with the Holly Springs Police, Durham Police and the Wake County ALE as they continue to investigate.
