Clayton police have arrested two men in connection to the break-in at the Smithfield's Chicken ‘n Bar-B-Q restaurant located at 10414 US Hwy 70 Bus W on August 11.
Police say the suspects forced their way inside through the drive-through window and pried open a small storage safe. An undisclosed sum of cash was stolen. Damages were estimated at $700.
A similar break-in occurred at the SCNB in Smithfield on August 6.
Police arrested Afries Sandonicaes Maham, 25, of 11 Waddell Dr., Smithfield and Dominque Demetris Slater, 21, of 126 Altavista Ct., Clayton.
Both subjects were charged with:
1 felony count of Breaking and Entering
1 felony count of Larceny
1 felony count of Safecracking
Each received a $50,000 secure bond and is being held in the Johnston County Jail.
