President Bush is coming to North Carolina to help raise money for Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory's gubernatorial campaign.
Bush is scheduled to arrive late Friday afternoon for the private event at the home of Raleigh developer John Kane.
McCrory faces Democratic Lt. Gov. Bev Perdue in November's election.
McCrory has been an active campaigner for President Bush in the past, speaking at the 2004 Republican National Convention.
The state Democratic Party says if McCrory was elected he would support what the party calls the failed policies of the president on children's health care and the environment. Party chairman Jerry Meek unveiled a video Thursday that highlighted McCrory's statements in recent years and during the GOP primary campaign.
