The Carolina Hurricanes will get back to work when the NHL draft resumes Saturday morning.
The Hurricanes have the 45th overall pick, which comes midway through the second round. The Hurricanes also have picks in the fourth, sixth and seventh rounds.
On Friday night, the Hurricanes drafted forward Zach Boychuk with the 14th pick of the first round. The Hurricanes were hoping to grab a defenseman, but two of their top targets went off the board before their pick. General manager Jim Rutherford said the price was too high to try and trade up.
