RALEIGH, N.C. -
Police and fire crews recovered the body of a drowning victim in Carolina Lake after a suspect in an armed robbery case fled from police and jumped into the lake.
Police said that as they went to arrest him, the suspect leapt into the lake, and as he moved further out into the lake, where he struggled and went under water.
The body was recovered around 9:45 p.m.
Police have not released his name until family members are notified.
