The Raleigh Police Department is asking for new information in a 15-year-old murder of a 17-year-old girl.
Raleigh investigators are trying to find new information into the death of Beth Ellen Vinson, who was 17 years old when she was murdered in the early morning hours of Aug. 16, 1994.
Vinson, who was from Goldsboro, had spent much of the summer in Raleigh and was working for an escort service when she left her apartment at 2:30 a.m. that morning.
Police said her car was found abandoned three hours later off Capital Boulevard near the Beltline. One of her shoes was still in the car.
Then, on Aug. 23, her body was found between two industrial buildings on Wicker Drive, which was a short distance away.
Over the last 15 years there have been several theories and endless leads into the investigation. Nothing, so far, has led to an arrest.
Now police are asking for you help again in the unsolved murder.
Anyone who knows or has heard anything is asked to call either the department's detective division at 996-3555, or Raleigh CrimeStoppers at (919) 834-HELP.
