Some local Cary firemen got a free lunch on Labor Day. The Cary Olive Garden location delivered the lunch as part of Olive Garden's Hospitaliano! "Thank You" program on Monday. The is the eighth year for the program in which all 685 Olive Gardens across the county donate lunches to local fire, police and emergency room departments across the country.
"It's great. This is our opportunity to give back to those that give to us on an everyday basis. This is just a small token of what we can do for them," says Scott Nolan, Culinary Assistant at the Cary Olive Garden.
Firemen from Cary station No. 2 and No. 3 received a lunch of salad, lasagna, spaghetti, breadsticks and tiramisu.
"I think it is great the community is coming and bringing us lunch. We really do appreciate it. From everybody here, thank you," says Matt Foley, Captain Cary Fire Station No. 3.
Olive Garden will deliver meals to the Cary Police Department Monday night. Also, the Raleigh restaurant delivered meals last night.
