RALEIGH, N.C. -

A state government building that houses the North Carolina Department of Justice will remain closed Thursday as crews work to find the source of a carbon monoxide leak.

State Capitol Police say about 300 to 400 people were evacuated shortly 11 a.m. from the old Education Building located at 114 W. Edenton Street in downtown Raleigh.

Capitol Police said one person was taken to the hospital after complaining of being dizzy and experiencing headaches. Another person was also treated for symptoms.

Patty McQuillan with the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety said the building was closed for the rest of the day while the source of the carbon monoxide was located.

The building also includes the office of Attorney General Roy Cooper.
