The 24th International Festival of Raleigh begins Friday and lasts until Oct. 4.
The Raleigh Convention Center will welcome 45 cultures from around the world and will feature sights, sounds and tastes from those cultures.
Each of the participating cultural groups provides a performance or cultural exhibit from their native country.
"The International Festival is the best thing this area has to offer" says Barbara Jones, a long-time Apex resident, who is hosting visitors traveling in for the Festival from Alabama.
Festival-goers can also participate in belly, hula and Bollywood dance lessons, learn to cook exotic dishes and kids can play in the new interactive venue, Sophia's Corner.
